Volunteers will greet you with a smile as they hand you a tasting notebook to help you evaluate the wines and beers you choose to sample. Be sure to remember your complimentary commemorative wineglass from Wollersheim Winery and your canvas Food & Wine Show bag filled with treats and gourmet gifts. Just think, all of this and you have barely stepped through the door! More than 150 exhibitors will be inside waiting to amaze you with their premium products and delectable treats. Keep in mind that much of what you see is available for purchase, either to enjoy yourself or to bestow upon a few lucky people this upcoming holiday season. Restaurant certificates and hard-to-find specialty food and beverages make great gifts, and this is your chance to show off your great taste! If it’s wine you’re looking for, take advantage of the special offers available on your favorite cases. All of this and much more will be at your fingertips, making your holiday shopping fun and easy this season. Again this year you have the opportunity to purchase wine directly from our Wine Cellar. This premium wine shop offers you the chance to taste wine, decide you love it and take it home with you. For those of you who are new to wine, we have a new Wine Ideas Center sponsored by the Kitchen Ideas Center that will teach you all about what goes into making wine and how you can decide which wines are right for you. Join Patrick O’Halloran from Lombardino’s and Robert von Rutenberg from von Rutenberg Ventures as they emcee the Dueling Chefs Competition, one of the most anticipated aspects of the Show. Come watch area chefs from Madison Originals, a collective of locally owned and operated restaurants, face off in an epic battle of cooking skills in the Hensen Fine Cabinetry Kitchen. The competition will be fierce, but only one can emerge victorious as this year’s Culinary Conqueror. Reigning Champion Shinji Muramoto will fight to retain the title for the 4th year! For the chance to enhance your own culinary skills, swing by our Gerhard’s Showroom Demonstration Kitchen. Fifteen of the areas' finest food and wine experts will host unique food demonstrations. These interactive sessions with appliances from American TV & Appliance are sure to offer you some great holiday entertaining ideas. At the Demo Bar you can watch an exciting bartenders challenge on Friday. The rest of the weekend you will learn how to enhance your dining or hosting experiences by determining what wines to pair with what foods. Come and take some tips from the best, so that next time you’re in the kitchen it can be your time to shine. |
